Since 1948, Barnett clutch plates and springs have been made from the finest materials available. Through research and development, we are constantly striving to offer the best possible friction material for your motorcycle or ATV. Barnett tempered steel drive plates go through a vibratory deburring process and then are quality checked for flatness to provide optimum performance. Heavy duty Barnett clutch springs are pre-set, shot-peened, and heat treated for performance and durability.

Answer QuestionYou would need to reuse the OEM double steel plate with this kit for the 1989 XLH1200. It does include the spring.

Answer QuestionGenerally speaking, you are to follow the instructions as laid out in your bike's service manual for fixing this, or any other clutch kit that we sell, to your machine. In the event you don't have a service manual for your bike, we can't say enough good things about Cylmer's V-Rod service manual. In it, you'll find detailed instructions for fitting clutch components with torque specs and step-by-step instructions to get the job done. With that manual, you'll have all the information you need for keeping your bike in tip-top condition.

Answer QuestionYes, the kit comes complete with friction plates, steel separator plates and a set of clutch springs that'll bolt straight into the OEM clutch for a Yamaha FZ700 clutch rebuild. Plus, the clutch stack height is set perfectly to OEM specifications, so there's no need to mix and match FZ 700 Yamaha clutch plates to set the factory-recommended height. Just be sure to soak all the plates in same spec oil that's used in the engine before installation so as to be sure you get the longest-possible life out of them. The symptoms you've described match that of a worn-out clutch. So long as that's the case, once you get everything buttoned up, you'll find your drive problems totally resolved.

Answer QuestionWithout knowing exactly what machine it is that you have, I can't speak to what comes in the clutch kit. I can tell you that each kit comes with all the required steel separator plates, friction plates and clutch springs to fit the OEM clutch on the model you select from our fit guide. Best of all, the clutch kits come pre-set at the factory for proper clutch stack height, so it's just a matter of soaking everything in oil and installing it on your bike.

Answer QuestionWe guarantee everything we sell that's listed with the green Exact Fit stamp will fit the model you select from our fit guide. Basically, in the event that something doesn't fit as advertised, we may ask for some more information about the matter to be sure we've got everything correct, and also - to help find you exactly what you need. We do our level best to be sure our fit data is correct. With regard to replacing the YZF-R6 clutch pack, it's not a particularly difficult task compared to some other motorcycles, especially older bikes. The most tedious part is getting the Rc lutch actuator arm to line up in its slot on the YFZ-R6 clutch cover when you're putting everything back together.

Answer QuestionThis particular clutch kit comes with steel separator plates, friction plates and springs - so there's nothing else you'll need to completely retrofit the clutch on your bike. One thing you may wish to consider is purchasing a clutch cover gasket. Of course, if you're careful when pulling that cover off, you'll probably be able to re-use it without issue. No less, if you wanted to get a clutch cover gasket for piece of mind, it can be had as a part of the Cometic Engine Case Rebuild Gasket Kit. At the moment, individual clutch gaskets for your bike are not available from any of our suppliers, but with that kit, you'd have a few spare gaskets on hand just in case you needed to service the stator, oil pump or timing covers as well at some point in the future.

Answer QuestionThere are no gaskets included with any of Barnett's clutch kits, including the carbon fiber variant. Provided the OEM clutch cover gasket is in good shape and you're careful when servicing your bike, you can certainly re-use that when installing this, or any other aftermarket clutch kit we sell. Otherwise, we do have a wide variety of clutch cover gaskets available in our store.

Answer QuestionBarnett does not produce a complete clutch kit to fit the 2002 Suzuki Bandit 600. I also checked with other suppliers but the story is the same there. However, we do have the friction plates in the form of an Bandit 600 EBC CK Clutch Friction Plate Set and also, a set of EBC CSK Clutch Springs that'll fit your Suzuki Bandit 600 available separately. Provided you're not out there doing holeshots away from every traffic light, or tend to drag the clutch lever while you ride, the steel separator plates may not require replacement. Should that be the case, with the new springs and friction plates - you would most likely be able to eliminate clutch slip without having to source the steel plates as well.

Answer QuestionThe wave plates you're referring to are not included with any clutch kit from Barnett Clutches. You are to re-use the OEM clutch wave plates when installing this particular clutch kit. As for your oil question; Barnett Clutch kits are compatible with any oil type that's specified as suitable by the manufacturer of your machine, including synthetic oils. We recommend Motul Lubricants for servicing any modern motorcycle or ATV.
