Progressive Drop-In Fork Lowering Kit

Forget everything you thought you knew about lowering the front of your Metric cruiser or Sportbike! Progressive Suspension has just completely changed the game! Their fork lowering kits are the best way to do the job. The old methods like sliding your forks up in the triple trees can allow the fender to contact hard parts, directly decrease minimum ground clearance and lowering straps are best left at the drag strip. These kits consists of shorter, higher rate main springs and Progressive's new secondary compensator spring, making the correct way to lower your forks a simple drop in solution.

  • Lowers fork by as much as 2"
  • Allows full droop travel

Questions & Answers

Ask Question

do the forks have to come off the bike

Drop-in kits are designed to literally drop-in from the top of the forks while they are still installed on the bike. Removal should not be necessary to complete installation.

Answer Question

Will this fit the 2015 Vulcan Vaquero?

If you were to choose the 2015 Kawasaki VN1700K Vulcan 1700 Vaquero forks springs from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct fork lowering kit to fit your bike. Best of all, the included instructions explain exactly how to fit these to your bike!

Answer Question

How much does this kit drop the front end? The description say "up to 2in" but do you have an option of 1in or2in drop?

You are to set the amount of drop by cutting the included fork spring spacers to the length you need. In doing so, you'll be able to lower the front end of your bike by up to two inches. The instructions that are supplied within each kit do a pretty good job of explaining how to get the setup on the front end just right for your needs. So long as you have a good, sharp hacksaw, you'll have no problem getting the front end height you want.

Answer Question

Do you have to take out any fork oil after install. How do these compare to burly products.

We certainly recommend that you check the fork oil level whenever making any changes to the fork internals. In fact, while you're in there, you might as well replace the fork oil. Progressive's fork lowering kit instructions also recommend that the fork oil fluid be replaced when installing this kit. The fluid level itself is to be set to the recommended height stated in your bike's service manual. We do have Motul Expert Fork Oil in the viscosity of your choice and also, a Motion Pro Fork Oil Level Gauge to be sure you get everything right. As for the comparison against Burly Brand suspension parts - those components are actually made by Progressive Suspension, so the quality and fit is identical - and Progressive's parts have been no problem for us. Burly's niche is for those looking for ultra-low suspension, the kind that may cause bottoming once installed. Progressive Suspension, on the other hand, is designed for those that want an easy install without the worry of bottoming out.
