Product Description

Cobra True Duals Header Pipes

  • The new True Dual headpipes come with Cobra's limited Lifetime Warranty in addition to a host of other unique features
  • One-piece full-length, 2.5-inch diameter heat shields cover the pipes from the exhaust ports to the chromed, muffler bodies
  • The heat shields are a larger diameter than most other offerings on the market and the single-piece shields (especially on the rear pipe) are singular in their design and effectiveness
  • The added benefit is that the larger heatshields will deflect more engine heat away from the rider, making it noticeably cooler for the rider and passenger
  • The pipes were also designed to deliver optimal torque and power while increasing the stock bike's rideability right in the sweet spot of the torque curve
  • The system consists of headpipes and heat shields
  • The headpipes' 1-3/4 inch diameter ensures the stock mufflers and most aftermarket mufflers will fit
  • Easy to understand instructions and all required mounting hardware included with each kit
  • Made in the USA

The Cobra dual headers arrived from Parts Giant very fast. As far as quality, they are more than I expected and look amazing on my 2008 Ultra. It's because Cobra uses a one piece 2-1/2" chrome heat shield. I have installed many exhaust systems and this one was by far the most straightforward. Lot's of room at the end of the pipe for the slip ons to fit. Very well designed Cobra!

  • What size is the bung for the O2 censor?

    By: Guest

It depends on which bike you wish to install the header upgrade kit. Cobra Dual Header Pipes for 1995-2006 Touring Harleys do not include a provision for an oxygen sensor. For the 2007-2008 model year bikes, Cobra True Dual Headers are fitted with a 18 mm x 1.5 O2 sensor bung.

  • Will I have to re tune my bike when I install these?

    By: Guest

While an outright re-turn isn't required, if you want to get the best possible engine power and throttle response out of your bike, you'll certainly want to adjust fueling. We have a wide range of Dynojet jet kits, Cobra carburetor jet kits, Power Commanders and Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3 devices to fit just about every bike on the market. Any one of them will be a great match for these Cobra True Duals header pipes.

  • Which has more power true duels or power duels

    By: Guest

Without question, the Cobra Power Port True Duals will produce more power, especially in the low to mid-RPM ranges. As these are the power settings where you'll be spending most of your time, anyway, you'll get the most benefit of the Cobra Power Port duals exhaust layout. This is by virtue of the fact that, while it has the looks of a true dual exhaust, it's plumbed to act like that of a two-into-one layout. And two-into-one exhausts produce the most power when it comes to V-twin engines.

  • Will I need to do anything as far as tuning my motorcycle after I add these true dual pipes

    By: Trimmer

Yes, you should absolutely adjust fueling with the installation of Cobra's True Duals head pipes. In this way, you can be assured the maximum benefit possible with these performance headers. Any time you make such a drastic change in the way exhaust gases leave the engine, you'll need to change fueling if you expect your bike to respond properly to your throttle input.

We have a few options available, depending on which bike it is that you have. If your machine happens to be carbureted, we recommend a Cobra Carburetor jet kit. They've been specifically designed by Cobra to work with their exhaust systems (including headers) and intakes. In the instance your bike is fuel-injected and you're not particularly smartphone-savvy, have a look at the Vance & Hines FP3 Fuelpak. The user interface is rather simple and straight forward - just set it and forget it. The FP3 as simply flashes each programming change to the ECU based upon the configuration you specify using the smartphone interface.

If you enjoy playing with fueling, Cobra's PowrPro Black may be what you need. This unit continuously adjusting fueling in real time, so no matter what environmental conditions you're riding in, you can be assured the best possible throttle response. The smartphone interface for this unit isn't quite as intuitive, but the benefits are an excellent compromise compared to the V&H unit.

In both cases for the fuel-injected machines, you will need an Android or iOS type of smart phone as they require some user input to configure them correctly.

  • Do I need additional parts, i.e. gaskets, etc?

    By: Capt. Z

The only thing you'll need to go along with the headers are either, the stock mufflers or any mufflers that fit the OEM headers. As far as gaskets or any other parts are concerned, so long as you have the OEM exhaust system on your machine, you should be all set as you will need to re-use some of the stock mounting hardware in order to install the headers.

As for the exhaust port gaskets, they're not included in any of the exhausts that we sell. If the ones already on the bike are in good shape, you can always re-use those. If you're not sure as to their condition, we do have a wide variety of replacement exhaust gaskets available on our website that you can get along with the headers to be sure you won't have any exhaust leaks off the cylinder heads.

  • Will my v&h slip on muffler on my 08 RK work with this head pipe

    2008 road king claasic

    By: Vp

Provided the Vance & Hines mufflers you currently have on your machine bolt straight up to the OEM headers without issue, then yes - you won't have any problems fitting this header kit to those mufflers. All of Cobra's Road King header kits are designed to work with the stock mufflers and anything that's a direct replacement for the stock mufflers. It'll all bolt together with ease.
