Questions & Answers

  • I have a 2016 fatboy 110 screaming eagle. Question below.

Knowing that companies will push all there products, do I really need to have a fuelpak autotuner if changing my exhaust to the listed above style? Where is the fuelpak FP3 installed an the bike? Once your use a tankful and calibrate, do you ever have to do again or does it auto adjust continuously with out having to use your phone again to update. Is the app for the FP3 able to switch to another phone with current information for the same bike or do you have to start over on the new phone?

Knowing that companies will push all their products, do I really need to have a Fuelpak Auto Tuner if changing my exhaust to the listed above style?

No, you’re not required to re-map your bike upon installing the exhaust, but we do highly recommend that you modify fuel delivery in order to maximize the benefit of the new exhaust. In other words, if you’re installing the exhaust to get more power out of your bike, then it behooves you to modify fueling to suit. Sure, you can probably get away without doing a tune, but again – if you’re after performance, you should certainly re-map the ECU. And even if you’re just after sound, throttle response will be what suffers the most. The bike may stumble at partial throttle settings or feel a little “off” when you’re rolling on the throttle. Whether or not this is tolerable to you, is hard to say.

Where is the fuelpak FP3 installed an the bike?

The FP3 plugs into the HDLAN cable. Depending on which machine it is that you have; it’s either going to be positioned under the seat or behind the right side cover.

Once your use a tankful and calibrate, do you ever have to do again or does it auto adjust continuously without having to use your phone again to update.

The Auto Tune function usually only has to be performed once. After you get your tankful of fuel through the bike, you’ll see the recommended changes in the FP3 app. You can apply those as you see fit. Since the FP3 tunes via flashing the ECU, there is no continuous tuning function. It only makes the changes you specify, via the FP3 app.

Is the app for the FP3 able to switch to another phone with current information for the same bike or do you have to start over on the new phone?

All that the FP3 app does is tell you how the FP3 unit itself is configured on the bike. The app is just an interface between you and the tuner. So yes, you’d be able to use more than one device to make changes to the FP3.

  • i have dyna 07 wide glide, will it fit w stock foot controls?

    By: stanly

Yes indeed, the FXDWG Vance & Hines Pro Pipe, like all other Vance & Hines Dyna exhaust systems, is designed to work with the stock foot controls. You should have no problem fitting the exhaust to your bike using the included installation hardware.

  • what is the size of muffler clamp

    By: Chuck T.

Most of these Vance & Hines Pro Pipe exhausts, however, are equipped with #24 clamps for affixing the muffler. #24 clamps are suitable for securing pipe with a 1" to 2" diameter. As the muffler for each one of these pipes is tapered, the size range specified is ideal for fixing the included muffler in place.

  • Will this exhaust system fit my 2017 Dyna StreetBob?

    By: Arturo

  • What else is needed for installation beside the exhaust pipes?

    By: Fast a

Everything you need to install the exhaust is included in the box, there's no need to buy any additional parts to physically attach it to any of the bikes we have listed in our fit guide. Of note, and depending on what bike you have - you may need to re-use some of the original exhaust mounting brackets in order to complete the installation. So long as you have the stock exhaust for your bike, you won't have any problems fitting this exhaust.

As for the engine itself, you'll want to consider either a carburetor jet kit or if your bike is fuel-injected; a fueling tuning device such as the Vance & Hines FP3 Fuelpak for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, or Cobra Fi2000R for metric cruisers. With proper fuel delivery, you can be assured the biggest possible power gain available with the new exhaust system. These fuel tuning components we've recommended, when properly setup, will yield the best results for your money!
