I was going to replace the foam on my grizzly and don't have the stapled on cover will this work without it?

You shouldn't have any problem fitting this over a seat without the vinyl cover. It may be slightly loose, as it's engineered to work with the OEM cover, but otherwise, it won't be a problem.
