Questions & Answers
Is the bottom hard so the corners don't sag? Need a good motorcycle carrier for my dog.
The GranTour bag is made of a semi-rigid construction that'll hold its shape so long as you don't put a ton of heavy gear on top of it. Though, for your pet - you will want to have a look at the Kuryakyn Pet Palace instead.
The motorcycle dog carrier Kuryakyn Pet Palace is better suited for bringing your pup along. It's got a storage compartment for a food dish and a removable liner. The latter makes keeping everything clean a snap. Plus, there are two additional storage compartments for your own gear and you can even open its top so your dog can peak its head out while you ride.
Suitable for dog carrier
I have read a few reviews of this being used as a dog carrier. It is large enough for my Frenchie but is it ventilated? The top appears in the photo to open up for a pet to look out. Is there any means of attaching a harness internally to prevent falling or jumping out?
It's certainly feasible that you cold use the GranTour bag for transporting your dog, it has no provisions for securing the dog inside while being able to have a look out. There's a much better option available in the form of the Pet Palace. With the 'Palace, four mesh vents allow your pup to have a look out while you cruise, delivering plenty of fresh air. Plus, there are other provisions for bringing food and water to keep your dog happy out on the road. And yes, the top can be left open with or without the mesh cover so as to prevent a squirrel chase at top speed. There's even a short leash included that's attached within the carrier which will stave off any escape attempts.
