  • I see that the Harley Davidson charging system is a direct bolt-on but please explain how having nearly a quarter inch thicker rotor center does not affect alignment of the chain. The compensator will be outward a quarter inch also thus the compensating sprocket and chain will be outward the same.

    Actually, it's rather simple. According to the manufacturer, the flat spacer that sits between the compensator nut assembly and the rotor is to be left out. In doing so, you avoid any misalignment issues.
