Questions & Answers

  • What is a Aero Gas Cap?

I like the standard gas caps, Is this a gas cap that is flush with the top of the tank?

    By: Tom F.

The "aero" designation is short for "aerodynamic" or rather, is just another term for smooth-top gas cap. If you have a Sportster and you're want a more traditional-look to the gas tank caps, check out the Drag Specialties Smooth-Top Quick Bob 3.6 Gallon Gas Tank with Screw-In Caps. With that, you can install any gas caps you want. Unless, of course, you have 992 or later model and the OEM continuous venting system is to be disconnected, you cannot reuse your stock vented cap. It must be replaced with a 1984-1995 version of the screw-type vented cap.
