Progressive's front fork cartridge kit converts dual damper rod, and damper rod/cartridge forks to true high-performance monotube cartridge forks! This kit contains a pair of high-performance, gas charged Mono-tube fork cartridges complete with a set of Progressive's famous fork springs and is a direct internal component replacement. No modification of any kind are required to install these in your forks. Just remove the old internals, plug in the Progressive cartridge kit and you're ready to go.

After finally getting the Progressive Monotube Fork Cartridge Kit installed, I can confidently say this is a game-changer for the front end of my bike! I finally got my 1990 flhtc dresser on the road after neck race and bearing and fork rebuild. I installed progressive fork cartridge mono tube stock height with three pe load spacers each side for stiffer handling and pulling my bushtec trailer. Bought my bike new and has 144000 miles on it now. I've been use to the anti dive stock set up, but must admit I love this progressive inners! I'm still running stock rear air shocks.

These progressives are amazing for an upgrade from factory. Will be upgrading the rear soon.

Feel the difference on straight roads, however, real different in the twisties! Feels more secure. Holds the lean without the "pogo" feel!

Just installed, all good. Rides better, longer ride, can tell more because of adjustment factor. This smoke in my area is holding me back from riding. Check back.

Made a world of different on the ride quality on my 1200 Nightster; it does not rattle your teeth loose now. Fairly easy to install but messy getting the oil out of the stock forks. A must for any Harley with the original dinosaur front suspension; also added rear Progressive 13.5" shocks and no longer drag the pegs on slow turns.

Great handling and performance! Went from a slammer kit to these and it was night and day! Love the ride quality.

Much better ride quality. These put my Softail Custom in a different league. I used two spacers because we ride double most of the time. Wasn't sure if it would ride too hard, but I got lucky and it was just perfect.

It's a little more complicated than changing out a complete clutch kit, but it's certainly nothing you can't do in your own garage with simple hand tools. There are plenty of videos on YouTube about changing for cartridges, just check those out since it's pretty much the same for most HDs of that model year. A service manual from Clymer will also tell you EVERYTHING you need to know along with showing good photos, torque specs &etc. If you're comfortable with wheel changes, getting in the primary, doing oil changes or taking the tank off your bike, this won't be that difficult.

Yes, that's correct. These cartridge kits completely replace all of the internal fork components on the 2000 FLHR Road King. The air ride components will be removed to facilitate this kit's installation.

Hi I have a 1997 flht Electra looking to purchase. How much fluid is used or recommended for each fork and does it come with all seals caps clips every thing

In the case of the 1997 FLHT's fork cartridge kit, you'll need 5 oz. of 10W fork oil for each fork. As for seals, none of those are included in the kit. You can re-use the OEM components if they're in good condition. That said, considering the age of the bike, and since you're already halfway there, you might as well put some new seals and/or bushings on while you're at it. That way, there will be no question as to the competency of your new fork internals. And yes, you WILL notice a difference in front end feel upon installation of this cartridge kit. It's really worth every bit of effort!

Do i need to remove the tire and take the forks off to install this?

Yes, at the very least, you will have to remove the front wheel from your machine in order to install this Progressive fork cartridge kit. The reason being is that you'll have to loosen the bolt on the bottom of each fork that secures each OEM Harley fork cartridge in place. Plus, with all of the fork oil that will come out once each bolt is pulled, you're looking at a small mess, too. Unless you have something that can reach all the way to the bottom of the forks to suck out that oil, it's best to pull the forks off of the bike and drain them by dumping out all of that fork oil into a pan.
