Are these pipes put on and ride or do I have to tune

You may be able to install this, or any other full exhaust system that we sell - and ride without too many issues. Then again, if you're in an area where fuel quality isn't that great, you're a little high up altitude-wise or you want to get the best possible engine performance and throttle response, you will want to acquire some sort of tuning device. Whenever you change the way fuel and air get into the combustion chamber, or the way exhaust gases leave the engine, you should adjust fueling to suit if you want to get the most out of your engine.
In this way, you can avoid things like poor running at idle or surging while at cruising speeds. Plus, you'll get the best possible engine performance and throttle response with the installation of the freer-flowing Bassani exhaust. In particular, we recommend the Vance & Hines FP3 Autotuner or Cobra's Fi2000 PowrPro Black tuners. Both devices adjust fueling automatically while you ride and installation is rather simple. If you're into tinkering with fueling, the FP3 is the way to go as it offers a wider range of tuning options. The PowrPro Black is more of a set-and-forget device. Both of them can be adjusted by downloading the relevant smartphone application.
Installation of either device is rather simple - if you can put the exhaust on, you can add the tuner as well. The included instructions for both devices are clear and give you a pretty good idea of how to maximize each unit's capabilities.
