As far as long-range comfort is concerned, no - this isn't the seat you'd want. The Short Hop is designed for just that, a short ride around town. It might even be suitable for a 90 mile cruise out in the country between stops, but there are better choices for a 600 miles ride. That said, it's truly subjective as to what seat works for what rider. The Short Hop may very well work for those of a smaller stature but are somewhat overweight. If you're truly concerned about long-range riding but still want a seat that sits low, check out the Danny Gray LowIST 2-Up Seat. So long as the tank that's on your bike is of the original configuration, there should be no massive gap between the seat and the fuel tank. If you have an aftermarket tank, it really depends on how that sits up against the OEM seat. If there's a large gap there, putting this - or any other seat on it probably isn't going to solve that problem.
