Where do you hook up the third wire since there are only 2 on previous 1996 models?

In the instance you don't have that third wire on the OEM harness, you could tape off or completely remove that third wire on the signal housing. The turn signal function would still work properly with just the signal and ground wires hooked up to the bike.
