Do I have to take the whole switch assembly apart to install these switch caps?

There's no need to disassemble the OEM switch housings to fit these covers. You just squeeze the top and bottom of each button as you pull on it to remove it from position. Then, just do the opposite to put the new switch caps in place. Installation is quick and simple!
