Difference between convex and flat

This refers to the shape of the mirror glass itself. Flat glass mirrors provide a narrower field of view than the convex shape. The latter, being slightly rounded and bowing out in the middle of the glass, acts with a slight fisheye effect and provide a wider field of vision rearward than the flat glass option. Everything else between the two options is exactly the same.
