This seat is awesome. I have a couple issues with it, but very happy I made the purchase. It fits great on my '88 XLH1200 Sportster. The front of the seat sits a couple inches away from my 2.1 gal gas tank so it will probably fit fine with a 3+ gal tank as well. I struggle at times with lower back problems and usually it starts to bother me 60-100 miles. With this seat I can easily do a couple hundred miles in a day and then some. The issues I have: The back rest just kind of floats in place. There's no set screw/bolt holding it in its place vertically. It has notches so it can be adjusted up or down, but nothing secures it to that adjustment and it can easily fall back down to its lowest setting. Getting the screw that holds the seat down to the fender is also extremely difficult to get in or out, as the head points in towards the seat. It does not come with a passenger seat, but you can buy one that fits with it for another $285. Just make sure you get the "recessed" option so if fits with the back rest.

You can certainly add a Mustang Harley passenger seat to the Mustang seat so long as it's a Mustang brand Harley passenger seat. Due to the solo seat's shape, it's not compatible with any other design. In particular, if you wish to maintain maximum adjustability of the driver's backrest, be sure to choose one of Mustang's recessed passenger seats. The shape of the seat is designed to work specifically with the driver backrest in order to allow for maximum adjustability.
