Questions & Answers

  • What's the difference between the EK630 and the EK630 SRO

What is the tensile strength of both chains EK630 and EKSRO

    By: Kit

EK standard series chains use unsealed links, which does reduce the cost of the chain and also, the life of the chain since the links are exposed to the elements while you ride. In the 630 pitch, the standard series chains have an 11,000 lbs. tensile strength.

SRO series chains in 630 pitch have a tensile strength of 10,120 lbs. It does, however, have O-ring seals on each link which greatly improves the usable life of the chain.
