Big bore engines are all about the flow, more air in and more air out, anything that slows that down, robs horsepower. The factory M8 intake manifold does a decent job in stock form, but starts getting in the way when trapped between 124 inch and larger cylinders. The stock polymer unit is also less tolerant of the additional heat that a big bore engine can make at full noise. The solution is the S&S high flow cast aluminum manifold - a must have for top level performance in the M8 platform!

Bike seems to have a better throttle response. But the primary reason for installing the manifold was because the older one is plastic and epoxy, from the motor company and may be subject to warping and cracking. Simply a preventative cautionary maintenence item for me.

This manifold was hard to find in last half of 2021. All retail sites were charging close to retail price as well....on backorder. I waited for months with Dennis Kirk and my order was cancelled. In early 2022, I found Parts Giant had this on their site, I called to verify stock availability, purchased one morning and received it the next day. I was very satisfied with the product itself. It was not a difficult install and stands out with its aluminum finish compared to the stock black plastic unit. Performance? Who knows, but I do know its a better quality unit than the 2 piece plastic manifold it replaced.

Yes. It's actually really useful to go along with any performance modifications where extra air is useful. Properly tuned, you can expect a good bump in power output and better throttle response at all power settings.
