What is a "rivet" master link?

I want a master link that requires the string steel keeper which slides into the groove at the ends of the link arms. If indeed "rivet" is literally a rivet...That is like sending a small child to do the work of a grown adult..no good. If you have the type that I'd like. Please include with my order. If it's not available that is not an issue because I can locate one. I'd just like to know if I need to. Apologies.. this is kind of wordy.. All told I hope you're having an awesome day.. Keith

What you're looking for is called a clip-type master link. Depending on the chain you're working with, these can often be pressed into place using simple hand tools. A rivet master link, on the other hand, requires a chain riveting tool, such as Motion Pro Jumbo Chain Tool Kit (a favorite here in our shop) or DID KM500R Chain Cutter & Rivet Tool. For this chain, unfortunately, JT only makes rivet master links for that particular chain. Probably due to the use case the chain was designed for - and we cannot state strongly enough that it is not okay to use a different master link with any chain other than the one recommended by the manufacturer. Lest that, we'd be happy to send the matching unit your way. Just grab that rivet tool and you'll be all set!
