Rick's Motorsports Starter Motor

After my starter failed (second time) I looked on line and found this one and this company. I recommend both! The starter spun the motor over better than ever! For what it's worth, I had an oil leak that I couldn't find for many months and believe it or not it turned out to be an issue with the starter! On the Honda Shadow there is an O ring on the nose that can cause a leak. So when changing out the old starter I found a puddle of oil in the valley where it sits. New starter no leak.

Polaris 2005 Ranger 500 - works great so far (3 weeks). This is replacing a $50 starter from box store that only worked for a few weeks before burning up.

Starter works as expected. Hope its better than the last 3 cheapos from other sellers that only last a couple of months.

This starter is a much better value than the cheaper alternative and still less than half the price of the OEM. Time will tell how long it lasts but it seems very well built. It starts the Arctic Cat 440 Z that I installed it on perfectly and it's going on a month of consistent use thanks to our unrelenting snow this year!

My 06 trx 450er starter went out. OEM is like $390 or something. Rick's was the next best pricing and close to OEM as its aftermarket. Would purchase again when I burn through this starter (hopefully not).

Fit and works perfectly on my 78 kz1000 ltd my bike has a mtc cylinder block with 1260cc big bore 12/1 compression. Ny old starter would barely turn it over but the new one wurls it good.

I just installed the part. Seems to be good quality time will tell.

We have been using this starter since last year. Works great on our Ltz400. My son has restarted it hundreds of times since we put it on. Getting ready to order another one for our other quad.

So far it is good and nice to be riding again.

I've been hearing others talk about polaris sportsman 570 weak starting issues and blaming undersized battery. I think the real problem is the starter. I changed out my starter on my 570 with Rick's starter and now it starts quickly and effortlessly every time. Thanks Rick's for an awesome starter.

5 stars so far. Perfect fit, more the starter motor diameter of the actual factory starter than the previous replacement. Now to keep note of the life/longevity and operation of the new starter.

If you were considering buying a cheap no name starter, just don't! After my OEM died, I bought a cheap Taiwanese one that melted my battery. When that one died after 2 months I got a used one, and when that died after 4 rides. I finally shelled out for this one. Well worth the money. You can hear the difference in the startup of the motorcycle.

Fits the bike and works well but is now a backup for the original starting motor, which I am still using as it was an operator error that caused me to think it needed to be replaced!

Fit is perfect, starts strong. Can't comment on how long it will last, but seems to be as nice as the factory one.

I ordered one for my 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C90t. Easy to install. Way better than the old starter, It cranks up super fast. But price is a little to high for a starter. It is still worth it though! Great product!

I ordered this starter as a replacement for the old stock starter on my old GS 1100. It seems well made as described and the price was great. I like that the positive post on the starter was beefed up because that's what broke on my old one. Will definitely keep this place in mind as I go forward and am in need of parts for both of my motorcycles.

Starter arrived as promised and on time. $200+ cheaper than OEM. Fit well. Only reason I didn't give five stars on "expectations" because they did not state in the online listing that you have to remove the gear from the old starter. There was a note in the box stating that they don't provide the gear, which is probably why it was so much cheaper than OEM. Not an issue, but if I had already trashed the old starter I would have been out of luck. Other than that, happy with purchase. 2002 Yamaha XV1600AT Road Star 1600 Silverado

Very happy with this starter. Bought a cheap one off eBay and it didn’t have the power to start the bike. This starter has plenty of power. Would buy again.

I wasted money on reo incorrect rebuild kits. I needed a brush and a brush spring. Wasted $50 and about 4 days. The Ricks starter cranks faster than the OEM starter.

This part was a third the cost of OEM and it fit perfectly. Only took a few days and it was on my porch. I would definitely buy again.

Triumph part looks and works as expected. Part was out of stock for some time but I kept checking back and as soon as it hit, I ordered it and had it within a week.

Starter fit up no problem on my 2011 Yamaha raider 1900 and starts easier and cranks engine over better than stock starter

Worked perfectly, starts my race motor with no problem. I installed it on my 82 gs 1100 Suzuki with a 1425 cc motor and it starts perfect every time.
