Rick's Motorsports Regulator/Rectifier

It was a little pricey but its also hard to find a quality part I needed. The factory regulator was plastic and overheated and melted. The one I bought is aluminum and heavier duty much better quality at a fair price comparing to other brands and exp from polaris!

Regulator rectifier looks a little smaller but so far works great on 1990 VMax 1200

I have purchased a few Rectifiers and never had an issue. This fit as should, quality great.

Son's FZ1 was running poorly at low throttle, dying and battery was not staying charged. New Reg/Rec solved the problem with plenty of juice at idle.

After stupidly ordering from big marketplaces (and receiving defective part!), thinking I could save a few bucks, Rick's supplied me with a quality part! And when I had a question I got a speedy reply, which was super helpful. I learned my lesson! It's Rick's from now on!

So far so good, after installation did a 60 mile ride, 14.2 volts at idle, 15 volts at 70 mph...

It worked

Replaced the OEM with this unit and charges great, even at idle 14.2 Volts. Pays for itself in battery life, replace OEM sooner than later is what I now know.

Part was 50% cheaper than OEM part and fit perfectly and solved my problem.

Previous owner installed a cheap R/R which left me stranded. After some research, everyone in the bike forums suggested to replace with Ricks. In my situation my connector was melted from the bad R/R so had to cut the wires on the old one and new one and just solder them directly. Everything was back to normal. Charging at 14.3 again. I have no doubt the Ricks R/R will hold up for a long time. When and if it goes I will upgrade to the mosfet version. Shell the money and get a good R/R.. will save you time and tons of money when you avoid over current from cheap R/Rs

Tried two cheap voltage regulators - neither one could control the voltage. Received this one and the voltage is spot on through idle and fast engine running.

Fixed my charging/battery drain problem.

Tried 3 rectifiers from 3 different brands in a single week. I'm sure you can guess they all went back quick lol. Ricks rectifier is the best option outside of oem. You will not regret it.

Bought two cheap regulators for 1/8 of the price, both burn out in less than a week. Waited to do a review on this regulator. Have had no problems with this regulator.

I ordered some cheaper less expensive regulators and they were getting hot. They would stick closed and kill the battery. This one is quality made! It was twice the weight so the internals were made of good material. If your having issues with your cheap regulator buy one of these and problem solved! Am happy with the purchase!

Installed this one and it works perfectly, very stable and reliable. Previously I had a Caltric but had to remove it as it was unstable and unreliable. Voltage was all over the place and sometimes no voltage at all. Lesson learned, don't go cheap on parts.

Learned the hard way that eBay R/Rs are not the way to go. The Caltric branded one I ordered last year fried pretty quick. My first thought was that the Stator had taken a dump as I had put a fresh new battery in a few months after installing the $25 eBay Caltric. After metering everything out I pulled the Caltric and knew immediately I'd wasted my time troubleshooting, you could smell the Caltric had fried. So far so good with Rick's R/R, was glad the new battery was holding it's charge and wasn't harmed by the cheapo R/R. If or when I should say the stator goes out, I'll likely have a Rick's Stator ready to throw in.

Fit and works just like it should. Don't waste your time or money on cheap knock offs. Everything that I have purchased from Rick's has been good quality parts, i.e. stator, CDI box, and I think even a speedometer. Nevertheless, you can stop shopping right here, you have found the sweet spot.

After a failed regulator cooked my battery, and a cheap replacement nearly cooking my new battery, the Ricks Motorsports Regulator/Rectifier proved to be the solution I desperately needed! It works perfectly and I could not be happier!

I installed and also bought a new battery. Immediately charging at 13.9 @300 RPMs. Have ridden about 250 miles now and still working very good. Problem solved!

Installation was quick and easy, it solved some of the issues but not all. I will be ordering a stator next.

So far, so good. Had a battery get fried due to voltage regulator. Replaced both regulator and battery. Don't do what I did. My first replacement was a cheap knockoff for 25 bucks . Didn't last 2 weeks and then fried the new battery. Rick's regulator is pumping out 14.2 volts and my battery is sitting charged at 12.9 . Don't waste your money and time on cheap stuff. Buy Rick's.

It has been working perfectly since I got it.

The part fit like the original and works great. It turns out that my problem is the stator so I've just ordered that along with timing belt, thermostat and front fork seals. Ricks parts always fit like they are supposed to.

The value is high for this regulator/rectifier because there are few replacement options other than the expensive OEM piece. I have purchased this for my bike twice over the years. The first one eventually failed to regulate the charging rate and boiled the battery. The second one shorted positive to ground and blew the main fuse. I am ok with the 10 yr. life span for the price. This is a service to the older model Japanese motorcycle owner.

Didn't want to spend this much but you have to if you want it to work correctly. Don't waste your money on Amazon knock offs, I learned my lesson on the rectifier as well. It over heated and almost burnt my bike down.

Being old, I am not great on computers. Rick was the first company that had a phone number where a live person answered! Then when I got the product, I called my motorcycle friends, this is it, the place we used to find 30 yrs ago. Where you received great service and a great product.

Tried 2 cheap ones off Amazon, both fried like an egg. This part is the correct one for the machine voltage right in range, came with what was needed to install, met my expectation. Worth every penny.

My 1993 LT4WDX was cutting out above half throttle which would clear up if you turned on the headlight. This regulator came fast and fixed the problem. Very satisfied.

Was a little bigger then OEM and needed longer mounting bolts but it fit in stock position and plugged right in to stock connectors. Have done business with Rick's before and knew their quality and reliability is top notch.

No regrets, a very reliable product.

Ordered a rectifier from another company dB electrical, found charging was ok but still not within factory spec, ordered the Ricks and it is perfect OEM fit and finish, charges the same now as the OEM one before issues, I would 100% recommend Ricks rectifiers to any one.

It is smaller than the original regulator but it seems to be well made. The cooling fins are horizontal to the wind flow, hopefully it doesn't over heat.

Swapped this one for my old one on my R1 and it totally fixed my issue and my bike was finally on the rode again.

This R/R is exactly what I needed. Installed on my 2004 Yamaha R6. My battery kept draining and killing the bike after 15 minutes of riding. Battery wasn't getting charged whilst riding. Replaced the stator and it didn't fix the issue, so I replaced my R/R with this product and the problem is now solved! I can ride again! Great value, I would buy again from here.

Changed my rectifier on my 07 R6 and it fixed the charging problem!

This is exactly what I needed to fix my electrical issue. Fit and finish are great and it plugged and worked with no issue. Value was great at a fraction of the OEM price!

My 2015 Indian Chieftain suddenly started showing a drop in voltage while out for a ride. It has a relatively new battery, so I was not sure what the cause could have been. I was pointed to the VR as the likely culprit (with the Stator as a fall back). I ordered a new VR here on a Tuesday evening, and had my replacement VR by late Saturday. Fitment was perfect and the new VR is working like a champ.

Put the part on and started riding. Very happy with Rick's motor sports. Rock on!

Well it works like it supposed to and so far so good. My luck has been bad in the past but this part has held up great. Hope it has warranty.

Very pleased with this product. I had bought 2 China cheap one's that didn't last a week before I bought a great quality rectifier from Rick's. So far I've not had any more problems.

This replacement is a bit thicker where it mounts with the bolts. Had to buy longer bolts, but works perfectly.

The rectifier I got is awesome I had bought 2 cheaper ones and they didn't last a week together. I was starting to worry so I ran across Ricks and even seen some of his videos online and I haven't had 1 problem out of my bike since. I don't usually leave reviews but this one deserves it.

The OEM rectifier blew up after ~20k miles and I've got this one as a replacement. Quality seems nice, I like the fins, I guess time will tell if it's reliable.

I intentionally DIDN'T want to buy those wicked cheap, made in China parts that LOOK like parts but actually fall apart in 2 months, or aren't able to carry the electrical current and blow out super fast. This regulator, from Rick's Motorsports, was perfect. It literally came the next day, I had the part on my bike and fixed within 24 hours of purchasing and most importantly, my bike is riding great! (This was the last fix after the epic amount of work of replacing the stator.)

Great regulator and fast shipping. Between the stator and this, my charging issues are gone on my Shadow 750.

No problems so far, but it's only been installed for about a month.

I swapped out both the stator and my regulator/rectifier together after dealing with a no-charge issue. Everything with the electrical system was looking a little toasty including the wires. My old regulator was a non-finned OEM that had 15 years on it. The Ricks regulator is working rock solid.
