From wat I remember there's two pieces short one that goes in motor and one to the clutch handle
You would receive a complete clutch cable, from the actuator arm on the engine all the way to the clutch perch, along with everything in between. There's no need to purchase any additional parts in order to replace the stock clutch cable on any machine you select from our fit guide.
Why is there a spring on the outside of the cable?

They're used on some cables to prevent the housing from kinking which would lead to binding of the inner clutch wire itself and the inability to properly manipulate the clutch lever.
How do i get a shorter cable for custom applications? Is there a size chart?

I put lower "Glide Style" bars on my 1996 FLSTC. The stock cable is too long.
We currently do not have any cables from Barnett that are shorter than stock for this 1996 Harley Davidson FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic.
