Cometic MLS Head Gasket 3.625" .040" MLS Harley-Davidson Shovelhead 1966-1984

Provides maximum sealing performance for today's high output engines and require no sealants. Ideal for aluminum heads to aluminum blocks and aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, withstanding the shearing force created by the two materials.

No need to re-torque, the embossing design of the MLS gasket promotes an even clamp load across the sealing surface allowing for measurable reduced bore distortion.

Cometic MLS Gaskets are comprised of multiple layers of stainless steel, due to its increased strength, ability to rebound and resistance to corrosion.

The outer layers of the gaskets are embossed and coated on both sides with rubber; a flouro-elastomer rubber based material that is heat resistant to 250 Celsius /482 Fahrenheit. Rubber is designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions, and surface finishes.

The center or shim layer is uncoated stainless steel layer which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements.

Questions & Answers

What to do with "rivets"

By Anon.

Thanks for sending this head gasket to me to quickly! I do have a question....I have a "stock" 1998 Fatboy and wanted to know if I need to remove the small "rivets" that holds the 3 pieces of the head gasket together or leave them alone? It looks as though they would protrude "outside" of the cylinder and base once installed. Thanks for your help.

Those rivets need to stay in place. They make sure the whole layered gasket assembly lines up correctly with the cylinder head and keeps everything sealed up properly.
