That said, depending on what machine it is that you have, you may need to re-use some of the OEM exhaust mount components. Basically, so long as you have the OEM exhaust and all of the hardware associated with it on hand, then you have everything you need to fit this exhaust to any bike you choose from our fit guide.

Since the same exhaust fits essentially every Softail model built between 1986 and 2011, Vance & Hines includes an oxygen sensor port as a provision to fit the OEM sensors. It's really a production/inventory measure on their part. Other than the O2 sensor ports, all other components on the exhaust are exactly the same between fuel-injected and carbureted Softails. We do our best not to include generic wording in any of our descriptions. In order to fit this exhaust to your machine, you'd need to acquire a two 18mm x 1.5mm oxygen sensor plugs. As for your second question, the OEM passenger footpegs will be located above the Straightshots exhaust system.

While none of our suppliers offer model-specific aftermarket heat shields to fit the Vulcan 1500, we do have a few universal parts that may fit your needs. Samson offers various diameter and length heat shields. Another brand to look at would be a Cobra Heat Shield Assembly. Both of those units are well-made and come with everything to position them exactly where you need.
