What is the cleaning process - what oil product do you use to put on filter?

It depends on what kind of filter it is that you're using (I don't know what machine you have).
If it's a cotton gauze filter element, the K&N Air Filter ReCharger Kit is perfect for that. Basically, a soap and water operation with then add the oil after the filter's dry using the included components in that kit.
If it's foam, you can keep it simple with a PJ1 Foam Air Filter Care Kit or go all-out with a Twin Air The System BIO Complete Air Filter Maintenance Kit that has everything you need (but the water) to get the job done. All of the kits have instructions on the best way to clean the filters so there's no guesswork on that front.
