The Cobra pipes fit perfectly. Equally impressive was the sound.

I purchased these pipes to replace the original pipes on my 2009 Yamaha VSTAR Silverado. The old pipes came off with no problems and the new pipes went on very easy and fit perfect. They sound so much better than the original pipes. My bike has more power now that the original ones are off. Did not have to make any carburetor adjustments.
By JC on Verified Purchaser
Took a minute to figure out how to install, but they sound great. You will definitely be heard on the road but they are not annoying to the neighbors.
By Jim T. on Verified Purchaser
These mufflers are fantastic, looks really nice and sounds even better. Would not hesitate to do business with them again.
By Ryan on Verified Purchaser
Installed on a 1999 Honda magna VF750C Much louder than the stock exhaust, and significantly lighter too. The gaskets for the lower mufflers are not included with this kit so you will need to order them separately for ~$8 each. Other than that the installation went smoothly, they sound great, and the chrome finish looks incredible.
By Russ. on Verified Purchaser
Was very easy to install. Bike runs fine without installing jet kits in carbs. Power and economy both improved. There is no popping or backfiring on deceleration. They are a bit noisier than I wanted, but I am happy with them. Installed on 2008 V-Star 1100 Classic Silverado.
By Micaela V. on Verified Purchaser
Went on easy and sounds great.

I purchased this exhaust for my 2002 Honda VF750C Magna. The fit and finish are top tier and installation takes about 25-30 minutes. Two exhaust clamps for the UPPER left and right muffler are included BUT you need to utilize the OEM exhaust clamps for the lower left and right mufflers. Also, you will need two OEM exhaust gaskets for the bottom mufflers as well. Overall, these are great pipes for the gen3 Magna that sound great but are not obnoxious! Worth every penny for sure! Excellent

Perfect fit, minimum parts to install. Sound....awesome!
By Donald F. on Verified Purchaser
Well dang. I wasn't really sure what to expect from these and kind of had low expectations. I'm blown away by the difference! They look nicer than the stock and the sound difference is very noticeable, my bike now has a pretty deep rumble to it.
By Leroy T. on Verified Purchaser
Great fit and sounds good.
By Roadstar on
I bought these for My 2007 Yamaha Roadstar 1700. I also put in a stage 2 Jet Kit. The combination of these two created a very powerful and sweet sounding bike! I was blown away by the increase in performance. The pipes are beautiful chrome and the sound is just perfect.
By David K. on Verified Purchaser
Love the sound, more power definitely better than stock.
By David E. on Verified Purchaser
Exactly what I expected. Pretty simple to put on, instructions weren't too bad. Pipes sound great, no hassles putting them on, delivered in one day. All around a good experience.
By Patrick M. on Verified Purchaser
Since I've put Cobra pipes (Speedster Longs) on a V-Star 1100, I knew what to expect. The hardest part was getting the stock mufflers off. Now my Road Star 1700 sounds like a motorcycle.
By Charles K. on Verified Purchaser
Pleasantly surprised
By Michael D. on Verified Purchaser
Very well built, much lighter than stock, quality parts, crude directions. As for sound, good, we are happy. Definitely louder, especially when burping the throttle. For the price, good upgrade.
By Alison Marie B. on
Took about 30 mins to get on my 2007 VStar 1100 and what a difference! Not as loud as drag pipes on my other bike and that's ok! It's perfect! :)
By steve m. on Verified Purchaser
I put the cobra slash cut slip-ons in place of the stock muffler on my 2007 Honda VTX 1300. The exhaust gave the bike new life with the extra power, the perfect amount of rumble, and a great all around look. So happy I got these. Worth every penny, but could be cheaper.
By Jeffrey S. on Verified Purchaser
They took no time to put together and put on. They sound great, perfect fit. Love them. Great product.

Up front, I’m not a huge fan of loud pipes. But I’m also not a big fan of noisy rattling engines. I bought a used Yamaha 1100 Silverado, 09 model, and that rattling engine was straight up raking on my last nerve. So, I read a few forums and the research told me 2 things. The time to worry is when they stop rattling and the best way to cure it was with loud pipes. So that’s what I did. I had to make a bracket to mount the top muffler, not sure why as the bottom one bolted straight on. But the ladies might not find me handsome but they sure do find me handy. So I quickly fabricated it myself and installed the.. The sound is great. They aren’t loud till you twist the throttle but by Jimmy I don’t hear that rattling engine any more at all and I am 100% happy about that. The cool part is there is no decel pop or backfire at all. And it runs better than it did. At least I imagine it does. That’s enough for me. I gave it heck for a while and no discoloration seems to be occurring at all. I honestly think the previous owner may have jetted it and put all the OEM crap back on before getting rid of it. I can’t say enough about these mufflers. When you hit the throttle it makes that ol 1100 Sound pretty mean, it’s bark is definitely worse than its bite now.

Very easy to put them on and they fit perfectly. The sound is awesome.
By Carlos S. on Verified Purchaser
Cobra pipes on my 96 Magna look and sound amazing. If I had one criticism, is that for the money they should come with the necessary gaskets, as trying to remove the OEM gaskets on a 25 year old bike was futile. I had to order new ones for the Cobra set, but no matter. The bike sounds like the muscle cruiser it's meant to be.

Was very ez to install. The hard part was getting 13yr old rusty muffler pipes lose and off. Took 1 hr to take apart (didn't want to screw something up took 15 min to install new muffler. Everything lined up. Look great sound great got a lot of thumbs up when riding.

Very pleased with the cobra slash cut slip ons, they arrived and took about 45 minutes to install. It went from the idling refrigerator to a Tiger sound wise, thank you.

Took about 45 minutes to install on a lift, only rode 5 miles on them they sound good coming home, now to loud and not too quiet, I'm satisfied with them.

My Honda Shadow 1100 sounded more like a lawn mower than a motorcycle. Ordered Cobra pipes, easy install and great sound achieved.

Love the new Cobra Exhaust. Sounds great even better than I expected.
By David L. on Verified Purchaser
Easy to install only problem was the rear pipe didn't fit my head pipe. Had to get a seal/bushing but other than I love them. They sound great just enough noise without being obnoxious.
By Kiel H. on Verified Purchaser
Truly can’t believe slip on pipes could sound so good. I’m pleased and very satisfied with the results on a stock Honda vtx 1300. The bike went from weak to get outta my way! Loud pipes save lives most definitely and if your looking for something loud just buy these. You should be impressed.

I love my new Cobra exhaust pipes! My old ones were rusted and worn out after 26 years of riding. These are the best sounding and mellow tone pipes on the market in my opinion. Shipping was fast and the packaging was excellent. High quality product and service! Thanks Again!

Just received my Cobra slip on exhaust this evening. Put this puppies on in less that 20 min. Man...what a great sound!
By Chris B. on Verified Purchaser
Absolutely can not beat the price. These are the exact same pipes and hardware that I would have received if I would have ordered directly from Cobra. Even came in the Cobra box with the same warranties at a fraction of the cost! I paired this slash-cut exhaust with the cobra fi2000 fuel management system and noticed an immediate increase in hp and the sound will beat most Harleys out there! Not a single complaint on my end.
By William f. on Verified Purchaser
Great pipes direct fit with great sound. I did not have to replace jets. I recommend them.
By Adrick M. on Verified Purchaser
The slip on slash cuts sound great when you get on the throttle but at idle provides almost a stock exhaust sound, great for anyone that wants a little more sound but doesn’t want to upset their neighbors early in the morning or at night. I’d say it’s ideal for anyone living in a heavily populated residential area. Installation took a little less than an hour. Instructions come with it but figuring out how to mount the exhaust bracket can be a pain but I did just order the cobra longs exhaust just because I want a deeper throatier exhaust note.

Amazing sound

They do fit the 97-03 Honda Magna, although the stock gaskets are very soft and hard to remove. You are better off buying new gaskets along with it. Easy install on the Magna though. Sounds pretty good, not very loud, but good sound.
By Chuck W. on Verified Purchaser
Backfiring occurs stock mufflers or not, bypassing the air induction system eliminates it. Huge weight savings over stock and only barks loudly when you get on it. Cleans up and narrows rear end with bags off. With the narrower tubing of the stock headers and an unchanged air intake amount, a retuning is unnecessary. Yes, you don't get the low rumble of a complete exhaust, but I'm good with it.
By Barry on Verified Purchaser
Super fast shipping and these cobra pipes sound great. Not too loud at idle but grab some throttle and the beast comes alive.

Great sound. Great service from parts giant.

Wow! These were very easy to install on my 09 Vstar Classin 1100. Took me maybe 20 mins. They sound amazing and are louder than expected. Trust me....they're louder than any video I've watched about them. I didn't need to do a jet kit...They run smooth. I am having the jets redone and air filter just to be on the safe side. I am very impressed and the shipping was FAST!

Answer QuestionTypically, you do not need to rejet for just the addition of slip-on's. If you have any other performance modifications such as a high flow intake, then I would suggest a jet kit.
By Anon.
Answer QuestionYes, the mufflers do include baffles.
By Bob
Answer QuestionThese slip-ons for the VTX1800R do not have the O2 sensor port. It would be recommended to purchase the Cobra O2 Sensor Eliminator so there is not codes that pop up after installation.
By Josh
Answer QuestionYes, as long as you choose that 2013 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado S when adding to your cart, you would get all the parts needed to install the slip-ons to that bike.
By Michael B. Jr.
Answer QuestionYes, absolutely! Just choose the 2008 Yamaha XVS1100A V-Star 1100 Classic exhaust from our fit guide, and you'll receive the correct mufflers to fit your bike in no time.
By Donnie
The factory mufflers for exhaust has brackets between the two that hold them together I was wondering if the new stuff comes with the same thing
Answer QuestionIt varies from machine-to-machine, but almost all Cobra exhaust components require that you re-use at least some of the OEM exhaust mounting hardware. If there are any additional components required to complete the installation, that will be included in the box. So long as you have the stock pipes on your bike, then you'll certainly have everything you need to put these new mufflers on.
By thechum
Answer QuestionIn the case of the Honda Magna 750 Cobra mufflers, you are to re-use the stock exhaust gasket when fitting these exhaust components to your machine.
By Mike
Answer QuestionAll Cobra slip-on exhaust kits are sold with enough mufflers to replace all of the mufflers you have on your motorcycle's stock exhaust system. That is to say, you will only need to purchase a quantity of one to replace all of the stock mufflers on any machine you select from our fit guide.
By Nicholas
Answer QuestionThere's no need to cut the stock mufflers off your bike in order to fit these VTX1300 Cobra slip-ons. You basically unbolt those mufflers and then attach the Cobra slip-ons in their place. Installation is rather simple, and the included instructions do an excellent job of explaining exactly how to attach these to your bike.
By John
Answer QuestionSo long as the OEM gaskets are in good condition, you can re-use them without issue.
By Johnny paz
Answer QuestionCobra does not produce any exhausts to fit Suzuki S50 models. The only exhaust we have to fit that machine comes in the form of a Vance & Hines Classic II Slip-On Exhaust. That particular slip-on exhaust kit comes with two mufflers, one for each side.
By Rodeo
Similar to Joe's question regarding his Roadstar, I would like a deep, throaty sound from my 2005 V-Star 1100 Custom (non-CA), but I do not want it to be so loud. Is there a decent alternative? Thanks ..... Rodeo
Answer QuestionFor your particular case, you may be pleased with the installation of the Slashcut slip-ons since most of the sound damping is done within the stock mufflers. If you found that the mufflers weren't loud enough, you'd have to option of removing the baffles that come with the mufflers. Of course, sound being a rather subjective matter, it's hard to say for sure if this, or any other exhaust component we have to fit your bike will be suitable to your needs. No doubt, however, you will get a stronger rumble out of your bike using these Cobra slip-ons.
By Anon.
Answer QuestionCobra Slashcut slip-on mufflers come with baffles welded-in. Consequently, it isn't possible to remove them. If you're look for a slip-on exhaust with removable baffles, check out the Cobra Slip-On mufflers. They all come with removable baffles that are held in place with a simple bolt which makes installing or removing them a simple affair.
By Jeff
Answer QuestionCobra's slip-on mufflers are designed to bolt onto the OEM headers for a 2006 model year Honda VTX1300R, but the mufflers themselves are not of the stock design. Their internals are designed to flow more gases than stock in an effort to improve throttle response, engine performance and increase sound output.
By Chris
Answer QuestionCobra's Slashcut slip-on mufflers are designed to replace all of the OEM mufflers on the model you select. If your machine was fitted with four mufflers from the factory, as is the case with the Honda Magna and Yamaha V-Max, then you would receive four mufflers with your purchase. If your bike came with two mufflers on it from the factory, then you would receive two mufflers in the box.
By ron
Answer QuestionYes, when fitting this slip-on exhaust to your machine, it does indeed eliminate the catalytic converter!
By Joe
Trying to decide between a slip on or full exhaust for performance and sound. Id like it to definitely have an increase in sound but not crazy loud. I ride an 06 Yamaha roadstar 1700
Answer QuestionFor the '06 Road Star 1700 exhaust, most of the noise damping that's done by the stock exhaust system is due to the mufflers themselves, not the headers. The headers are a pretty straight-forward affair as they just direct the gases to the mufflers without any noise-damping or catalyzing materials within. The Yamaha Road Star exhaust employs a series of chambers within each muffler that move exhaust gases back and forth (literally) within a set of chambers to deaden the sound output to street-compliant levels. With certainty, the Cobra mufflers associated with your question will be louder than stock, but of course, won't provide as great a performance benefit as going with a full exhaust system. The Road Star's headers are designed more for inexpensive manufacturing rather than outright performance. That said, if you're looking for the best possible balance of performance with an eye towards a good (but not annoyingly-loud) sound - then you'll want to find an exhaust that's as long as possible. To that end, I have a few options for you: Vance & Hines Longshots Original Exhaust System Cobra Speedster Slashdown Exhaust System And if you a two-into-one exhaust, check out the Cobra Power Pro HP 2-into-1 Exhaust System All of these exhausts provide a good measure of performance without being annoyingly loud. Also, let's not forget that you'll need to adjust fueling to suit any new exhaust you put on your bike. For the Cobra exhaust, we recommend a Cobra Carburetor Jet Kit and for the Vance & Hines, your best bet would be to get the Dynojet Jet kit. Both kits come with everything you need to get the most out of whichever exhaust it is that you choose.
By mike
Answer QuestionWhile you can probably get away with installing the exhaust by itself, we certainly recommend that you adjust fueling to suit. This way, you'll get the best possible throttle response and engine performance. Basically, any time you change the way air gets into or out of, the motor, you'll want to adjust fueling appropriately to maximize any performance gains available from the new setup. The good news is that Cobra makes a slew of jet kits that are a perfect match for their exhausts. Simply search our store for "Cobra Carburetor Jet Kit" and select your machine to see what we have for your needs.
