I bought progressive springs for my 2001 heritage softail. The front end was very spongy. Very good springs for the price, it stiffened up the suspension and rides a lot better! And doesn't dive when brakes are applied.

Yes, this kit would be a nice upgrade compared to stock for your weight. The next step up would be to go with a fork cartridge kit to get even more performance out of the front end of your bike. Progressive, as well as Legends and Fox Shocks offer kits for your bike which we have on our website.

While it's not required, yes - we absolutely recommend matching the fork spring rate to that of your shocks. A matched set of forks and shocks will really improve the ride quality and handling of your Fat Boy, especially when you're riding two-up.
