Sintered metal brake pads are the OE type replacement pads for most bikes from the late 1970s to the present.
Sintered metal brake pads are second to none in their stopping abilities and wear characteristics while still providing excellent reduction in noise and dust.
Brake pads are asbestos, nickel, and lead free.
NOTE: Sintered pads are not recommended for aftermarket billet steel rotors as the pad material is too aggressive for those rotors and may cause damage. Use organic type brake pads instead.

I always use sintered metal brake pads - They are a little harder on the rotors but the extra stopping power is worth the extra wear on the rotors for safety - these pads stop quickly and smoothly

Except for the rear brakes on trikes, all brake pads are sold per-caliper. You'll need to purchase a quantity of 1 for every brake caliper you have on your machine.
