Installation wasn't too bad. If you have the OEM detachable back rest and sissy bar, you may need a slightly longer bolt to reach all the way through. The bolt in the kit was just a little bit too short. Signal lights stayed in the same location. The shock installed easily with the supplied bolt. I can't say this for all motorcycle parts I bought, but the instruction with this were actually pretty good.

Will this fit a 2014 softail slim with removable passenger bar kit

Due to the fact that the passenger bar kit and these saddlebag supports are made, the two components are incompatible. You'd have to remove the Softail Slim sissy bar in order to install these FLS saddlebag support bracket.

Looking for saddlebag mounting brackets
While this particular kit won't fit your bike, we do have a 1993 Softail Nostalgia Saddlemen S4 Quick-Disconnect Saddlebag Mounting Kit. That kit will work with pretty much any saddlebag you can find, at least in terms of keeping everything away from the rear wheel. Plus, when you don't want to be cruising with bags, you can easily remove the brackets for a clean look.
Will these work on a stock 1998 Fatboy?

Drag Specialties does not list any saddlebag supports to fit the 1998 Softail Fat Boy. We do have a set of quick-detach supports to fit that bike in the form of Saddlemen's S4 Quick-Disconnect Saddlebag Mounting Kit. With that unit, you'll get everything you need to fit your bike and, when you don't need the saddlebags, you can easily remove the supports for a clean look.
