Purchased this item to resolve a clearance issue when I upgraded bars. The old handle bars were 1" diameter. The new bars were 1.25" diameter. When I went to put the old master cylinder on the new bars, the brake fluid reservoir was hitting the handle bars where it stepped up to 1.25", preventing it from mounting flush. This drag specialty master cylinder clamped on the 1" grip section perfectly, and cleared the 1.25" section with no issues.

Will this interface with my 2008 FXDWGI stock front brake switch?

Yes, these Drag Specialties master cylinders are designed to work with the remaining stock components on any machine you select from our fit guide, including the 2008 Fat Boy.

How do I know if my bike has the 9/16 or 11/16 bore? Does it matter? I have a 1999 sportster 883

You can employ either master cylinder bore on a machine with a single brake disc, but if your machine has a dual-disc front brake setup, you'll want to use the bigger master cylinder bore. Basically, the bigger the brake master bore, the more fluid is moved, when compared to the smaller bore, for the same amount of lever movement. That is to say, the bigger bore unit is more powerful. If you're after power, always go for the bigger master cylinder!

Does this unit come with brake switch?

No, there is no brake switch included with this master cylinder, you are to re-use the OEM unit in order to complete the installation. In the event you require a new switch, we have Drag Specialties Front Brake Light Switches available for a wide variety of Harley-Davidson motorcycles that'll also work with this master cylinder.

Does this take a 10m banjo bolt.?

These Drag Specialties front brake master cylinders accept either, a 7/16"-24 or 3/8"-24 size banjo bolt, depending on what make, year and model machine it is that you select from our drop down fit guide. So long as you're fitting it to one of the models listed that has the stock front brake lines and front master cylinder on it, you should have no problem bolting it up to any machine in our fit guide.
