will it hold up to 10.5 compression

If you were to choose the 1.7kW starter motor, it wouldn't have any problem starting an engine with a 10.5:1 compression ratio. The important thing is that you have a powerful battery with at least 300 cold-cranking amps, and a good set of battery cables to get that juice to the starter. With those components, you shouldn't have any problem getting you tuned motor started, even on cold mornings!
