Great shocks

By Ronnie F. on  Verified Purchaser

Easy install. Just google how to install on your bike model and follow directions, it helps to have an ATV lift or the like. Installed on my 2005 Harley Ultra Classic FLHTCUI. Removed the original air ride shocks at 75,000 miles because they stopped holding air. These Drag Specialty shocks ride great. In fact, I believe I like the ride better than the original stock air ride. I will update if I change my mind.

Shocks

By Carmelo R. on  Verified Purchaser

Switched from stock 10.5 inch to these 13 inch, ride so much better they're better quality than expected

Exactly what the bike needed

By Jeffrey C. on  Verified Purchaser

Exactly what the bike needed, love these shocks.

Excellent outcome for the money

By Paul B. on  Verified Purchaser

Money well spent. If you're on the fence on replacing your stock air shocks but don't want to spend a ton of money? Pull the trigger and you'll feel the difference.

Well worth the price

By William B. on  Verified Purchaser

Looks awesome, rides smooth

Shocks replacements

By Jorge P. on  Verified Purchaser

Good quality, good performance, great price!

I'm Shocked!

By Donny H. on  Verified Purchaser

I got the Black shocks, they totally look awesome. Springs are a bit larger diameter wise compared to my stock shocks. Had to put both washers on the one side so the spring would not hit my sprocket/belt cover guard. Feel good and stiff. For the price I'd buy another pair.

Shock Absorbers

By dynadan on

The part came with a variety of spacers/washers and grease which was appreciated. The ride quality was very good compared to stock. The manual was a disappointment, which just said to follow manufacturer procedures and didn't include any pictures.

Questions & Answers

I think Harley Switchbacks have 12 inch shocks, how will these impact ride & height?

By Anon.

That's correct, the Switchback came from the factory with 12" shocks. How these shocks will change your ride really depends on what length of shocks you choose. For the best results, we recommend you stick with the OEM-length set so as not to change steering geometry and, consequently, front end feel. Using same-length shocks, you can expect improved road-holding and better feel at the rear when compared to stock shocks. This is due to the progressive spring design, in that, the shocks become harder to move the further they're compressed. You'll notice less waddling/bobbing while you ride, especially on less-than-ideal roads.

Will this shocks lower my 2008 nighster 1200?

By JD

The 2007-2012 Harley Davidson XL1200N Sportster 1200 Nightster should have come from HD equipped with 11.5" shocks factory. These shocks for the Nightster are 11" in theory it should lower the bike .5". I would suggest taking a quick center to center measurement before placing your order to verify the height or your current installed shocks to be certain if it will indeed adjust your ride height.

I have an 07 Harley Electra Glide Classic. Usually just me riding (I'm 245) but sometimes the wife comes too. She's about 135 and if we pack out I'm guessing the heavy duty will be best?"

By Seth

These shocks appear to be adjustable... What is the distance that they will adjust? Other sites show +/- .5 an inch. Is that accurate for these?

These shocks for the Harley Electra Glide are of a fixed length based off of the size you select from our menu above. They are adjustable for preload which will modify the ride height slightly based off of the vehicle load and setting, though, they're not intended to lower or raise the bike from length selected. You can only set the preload to maintain a level ride once loaded. Rebound and compression damping are non-adjustable, but I can tell you that these shocks are a significant improvement over the shocks. As for spring rate, based on your needs, select the heavy-duty spring rate for your weight and for also riding with a passenger.

Spring Rate

By Kasey

What's the difference between standard and heavy duty?

Spring rate is to be chosen based upon your riding needs. I the case of heavy-duty springs, these are best suited for solo riders over 220lbs. If you ride two-up and/or with a full load of luggage at least 50% of the time, heavy-duty shocks are also recommended. Otherwise, if you fall below this criteria, the standard rate springs will do well.

By Anon.
