The 2000 Harley Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide OEM clutch cable housing measures 68.7 inches long with about 2.8 inches of free length (the length of inner cable that dangles out when it's all pulled to one end). Hopefully that helps so you can be sure to choose the correct Dyna Wide Glide clutch cable based on those measurements!

The stock housing length for the clutch cable of the 2002 FLSTC would be 64.8".

The stock housing length clutch cable for that 2006 FLSTFI is 64.8".

If you are choosing stock length for the 2016 XL883N Iron, the housing length for that cable is 54.8".

Free length is the amount of wire that protrudes outside of the cable housing when the inner wire is pulled to one end of the housing. It is measured from the end of the fitting to the center of the cable ferrule.

Any additional cable length is added to the overall length of the cable. The specs provided in our listing is for housing length, which is just the vinyl section of the cable not including any metal fitting as those remain constant and do not change when the cable is shortened or lengthened from stock. All measurements for cable length are taken with any inline adjuster fully collapsed. Any models with inline adjusters, the location will remain the same as stock unless otherwise noted in our listing details.

All of Motion Pro's clutch cables, including these Blackout variants, are designed to be attached to the model you select from our fit guide in the same manner as which the stock cable is affixed. That is to say, if the OEM cable requires the primary cover to be removed in order to remove/install it, then the Motion Pro cable will require the same.

The stock housing length for the 2008 FLHX clutch cable measures 62.8 inches long, according to Motion Pro. We do have a wide variety of longer-than-stock cables available to fit custom handlebar applications. However, without having the machine here to measure, it’s difficult to say exactly what length clutch cable would be suitable for your application. There are far too many variables to determine what will work: bar width, height, sweep and even the angle at which the bars are mounted on the bike all play a role in exactly how much extra cable is required. To be absolutely sure you get the correct length of cable to fit your bike, mount the handlebars on your machine and carefully measure the expected route that the cables would travel. Then, compare that against the stock clutch cable and note the difference in length. From there, you should be able to have a pretty good idea of how much extra cable your application will require. Once you've done that, simply select your make, year and model from our fit guide and then choose the length over stock that you need.
