Depends on what other modifications you have done. If you only have the intake, you may be able to to get by without having a tuner installed. If you have aftermarket exhaust or other performance parts installed, it would be recommended to also install a tuner.

This is a complete assembly with backing plate and filter. The filter is a small filter design. The engine will be audible through this filter element as you accelerate.

So long as your Cobra's K&N air filter is in good condition and has been well-maintained, not much happens at all! The Cobra air intake's K&N filter use treated with water-repellent air filter oils that does an excellent job of keeping water ingestion to a minimum. This holds true even at the most torrential of downpours. One thing to remember, however - is that whenever you encounter particularly harsh weather, you should most certainly take care of your K&N filter with a K&N Air Filter ReCharger Kit. In this way, you'll keep the filter at peak performance in terms of both, dirt capturing and prevent water getting into the engine.
