Cobra air

By Rob C. on  Verified Purchaser

Installed on my 2019 street glide. Could definitely tell a difference in the air intake. I did purchase and Installed a Fi2000R fuel tuner to go with this for peace of mind on correct fuel/air mixture, and it really did wonders on exhaust sound. Really pleased. I am waiting for the cobra header pipes to have a complete cobra exhaust with neighbor hater exhaust system. It has only taken me 6 years to upgrade all this other than the slip ons.

Looks and feels nice

By Jules. on  Verified Purchaser

I bought this to replace my old one that I got with my 2016 Honda Stateline 6 years ago. This was the least expensive combination that I saw. And it's well built. I needed a different design and a new filter, so I figured to get all new parts....nothing like a new K&N filter, no matter how many times you clean the old one. I'm glad my bike had the ECU already on it.... mine had an Fi2000

WILL THIS FIT MY 2015 KAWASKI 900 CLASSIC LT?

By Lopez

will this include everything i need for instalation. Also i dont see a cover for the filter so dust and insect dont get there?

If you were to choose the 2015 Kawasaki VN900D Vulcan 900 Classic LT from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct air cleaner kit to fit your machine. You will find the kit comes with everything you need, along with a clear set of instructions, to fit your machine. You won't need to buy any additional parts to put it on your bike. The air filter itself is sufficient to prevent dust and insects from entering the engine itself, and for that reason, there is no additional cover included in the kit.

Will a Honda vtx1300c need an A/F tuning after installing

By Tim

I see FI2000r systems mentioned, but they are only listed for vtx1800 because it is fuel injected. With a carb, would tuning need to be done?

In the case of a full exhaust system on a carbureted bike, you're certainly going to need to adjust fuel delivery to suit if you're coming from a stock system. Fortunately, Cobra has designed the Cobra Carburetor Jet Kit specifically to work with their exhausts. The kits come with all the required jets and needles to work with the selected model, and the included instructions do an excellent job of explaining the proper settings to work with your needs. Without adjusting fueling, you're going to find the bike will be sluggish, or miss - at even small throttle changes or feel like it's missing at a steady throttle. When it comes to carbureted bikes, you need to adjust fueling when going from a stock exhaust to a complete aftermarket exhaust system.

I just bought a 2015 honda shadow phantom with 1500 miles on it and would like just make some upgrades. Which one of the cobra air intakes would you recommend and what happens if I was to get caught in the rain?

By Vinny

Any of Cobra's Honda Shadow Phantom air intakes would do the job well. They're all well-engineered for improve performance over the stock intake. The differences are mostly cosmetic as the actual intake's design below the outer air filter is the same for each of them. As far as rain is concerned, it's usually not an issue. The filter elements themselves are treated with a hydrophobic filter oil. The main thing is to be sure to service it as soon as you can after riding in heavy rain. To do that, we recommend a K&N Air Filter ReCharger Kit as that has everything you need to clean and restore the filter element and keep your engine running in top condition.

Hello, Do I have to bring this unit to the dealer after I install this air cleaner to get it re-calibrated? i allready have a K&N air cleaner on with a billet aluminum air cleaner.

By PJ R.

If your machine is already equipped with an aftermarket intake and air filter, it probably won't require that fuel delivery be re-calibrated. No less, if you want to be assured the best possible engine performance and throttle response, it never hurts to have a tune completed after the installation of a new exhaust or engine air filter.

Are there any additional parts needed to allow this to fit a 2013 Honda fury non abs?

By Anon.

There are no additional parts required to fit this Honda Fury intake system to your bike. In fact, all of Cobra's Air Intake systems come with everything you need to complete the installation in one kit. There's no need to purchase any additional parts.

this product will make my efi softail standard 2006 harley run lean so how do i get the air mixture to be correct?

By Raymond G.

You're indeed correct, this intake will make your bike run lean. To mitigate this condition, Cobra recommends the installation of an Fi2000R Fuel Controller to go along with this air cleaner. With the Fi2000R, you'll be able to easily tune your bike to run properly with the new air cleaner. Best of all, if you were to change the exhaust system later on, the device can be adjusted to accommodate that as well. The Fi2000R instructions do an excellent job of explaining exactly how to go about about setting it up (there are three rheostats on the tuner) based upon the feedback you're getting from the bike while you ride.
