Like a lot of other reviewers I bought this seat because my wife wanted more comfort while on the back for longer rides. The three things I installed for this were Cobra sissy bar, Cobra sissy bar rack and a Mustang wide touring seat. So far we're very happy with the quality of all of these products. I recommend any or all of them 100%

I was skeptical at first. After installation and hopping on for a test ride i knew that i had hit the jackpot with the seat but I wasn't 100% until my first long ride. We had rode for a while and were having a good time not keeping up with time or miles, just out for a ride through the mountains when a friend started pointing to his gas tank..i looked down at my mileage and it had been 165 miles and we had not stopped one time. Normally after about 60 miles i have to stop and get off the seat for a few minutes..not any more. Ride until you need fuel...fill up and do it again..all day and half of the night! Best seat I've ever been on.

Perfect fit! Seat sits a hair higher that factory seat but 100 times more comfortable! My wife loves the wide, thick rear seat and the addition of the Cobra sissy bar! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a replacement seat! I was initially happy with the free shipping but it arrived at my door in 24 hours! That made the experience spectacular!

Regrettably, there is no provision for fitting a passenger backrest to this particular seat. Furthermore, due to the passenger seat's wide area, it won't work with any aftermarket sissy bar kits. The only machines for which this seat works with a sissy bar is for those bikes that come equipped from the factory with an OEM sissy bar.

Unless your machine came from the factory equipped with a sissy bar, due to the width of the passenger area of these seats - they almost always will not work together.

This particular seat isn't available with a provision for a passenger backrest, but you can get what is essentially the same seat in three separate pieces. That consists of a Mustang Vintage Wide Touring Solo Seat that's matched to a Mustang Seats Wide Touring Passenger Seat with Backrest Receiver. In addition, you'd need to purchase a Mustang Passenger Backrest since Mustang seats that are equipped with a backrest receiver are only compatible with a Mustang backrest. With those three items, you'd have everything you need to equip your bike with a Mustang driver and passenger seat that's more comfortable than stock along with passenger backrest. Due to the width of the passenger seat, it's not possible to add a sissy bar. So, unless your machine comes from the factory equipped as such, it's unlikely that this seat will fit with any aftermarket sissy bar kit.

While the seat may appear to be of a two-piece design, it's the seat tray on the bottom that's of a one-piece design. In this way, the entire seat is secured to the machine in the strongest manner possible. It'll fit perfectly and, in doing so - will provide the best possible comfort for the long haul.

2008 sportster xl1200 custom passenger seat looks wide...curious if it will fit with my sissy bar installed on the back of my bike for my passenger?
For the 2008 Sportster XL1200C, the widest point on the passenger seat is 10-1/2 inches. You can see all of the dimensions associated with the seat under the main description once you select your make, year and model from our drop down fit guide. To be sure that this seat would fit your needs, carefully measure the distance between the risers just above the highest point on the rear fender where the passenger seat would fit. That will give you a good idea as to whether or not this Mustang seat is suitable for your needs.
As it turns out, the seat works with zero issues and is a very comfortable seat that will allow you to ride tanks of gas before stopping and not because of a sore butt!
