S&S Super Stock Cylinder Heads 89cc/.585 Wrinkle Black


S&S Super Stock heads intended for larger displacement engines, S&S 89cc heads have a whopping 264cfm flow rate (compared to 182cfm for stock HD heads), larger valves and .585 inch lift valve springs. S&S recommends Easy Start cams or manual or electric compressions release system in order to maintain reliable engine starting on high compression applications.

  • Stock and 3-7/8 inch bore
  • Heads can be decked up to .060 inch to increase compression
  • 2.000 inch intake and 1.605 inch exhaust valves
  • S&S .640 inch lift valve springs
  • Stock Harley-Davidson rocker boxes can be retained if S&S manual compression release or S&S Easy Start cams are used.
  • Must use S&S valve cover gasket part #90-4124 with stock rocker covers

Product Note: If 89cc heads are used with OEM pistons, valve reliefs must be machined up to 0.60" to increase compression due to larger valve size. Valve-to-piston clearance must be checked on decked heads. With OEM piston, valve pockets need remachining. Moderate valve spring force in S&S Super Stock heads allows using camshafts designed for the OEM style chain cam drive system. Larger intake manifold recommended to supplement heads in order to let them flow to their full potential.

Not only did I get the 89 CC super stock heads I got the 585 complete Gear Drive and cam chest kit and the 100 in Big Bore Kit piston and rings very pleased with everything. can't stop smiling ear to ear. I would recommend all to anyone. Parts come complete with installation instructions. First time I ever went into the Harley motor. Built plenty of high-performance car engines, it was a breeze with your instructions.

Is this a good fit for 100 ci rebuild kit

2005 heritage softail I have 585 easy start cams and 100 cc rebuild kit

These heads aren't just good, they're awesome, especially if you've already got some motor work done. The heads love cams and big bore kits since they allow a ton of air to flow which, in turn, allows you to tune for big power and maximum throttle response.

Is it a simple plug and play for a 2014 sgs 103

I've done al of the other things. Intake, exaghast, cams, ignition and wires and plugs, clutch. I want to install heads and pop up pistons same size but more compression. Any thought or advise should be welcome. Thanks. Mark Dixon.

There really isn't much to it, for fitting these to your bike, that is. Just swap the OEM heads out, check the usual clearances &etc., and you're good. You'll want to be careful on piston choice with regard to cylinder head clearance, and that's explained in the instructions. And of course, you want to adjust fueling to suit, but given the other work you've had done already, I'm confident you understand that. Other than that, these heads will be a nice addition to your current setup, that's for sure!

What size are the exhaust valves? Any other S&S parts required other than rocker cover gaskets? 2000 FXDS.

The 1999-2005 twin cam heads that will fit a 2000 Harley Davidson FXDS-CONV Dyna Super Glide Convertible have 2.000" intake and 1.605" exhaust valves. If you are using stock pistons please check piston to valve clearance as valve relief pockets are often needed due to the large diameter valves, deeper pockets would be required for thinner head gaskets. Any required gaskets are included with the kit, save for the head gaskets. The reason those are not included is to allow for customizing of head gasket thickness to fine tune your compression ratio.
