This unit has absolutely no GPS functionality. It uses a wheel speed sensor to display speed. If you're after a Trail Tech with GPS mapping, take a look at the Trail Tech Voyager Pro GPS Computer Kit. That unit can be setup to display speed either, via wheel speed or GPS signal. Admittedly. the GPS signal isn't that great for showing speed since it's only updated, at most, every second on the Voyager Pro version.

The LCD instrument itself measures 4.2" wide x 2.3" tall and a smidge under one inch thick.

No special tools are required and most guys get it done within two or three hours at most. Just take your time and follow the well-written instructions that come with each kit. Everything you need comes in the box, as far as parts are concerned. Just be sure to carefully route the wiring for all sensors in an effort to keep them away from the exhaust and other moving parts and you can expect years of reliable use out of the device.
