Beware that you need a special set of pliers to get the clamps installed properly. Not sure exactly which type, I just borrowed some from a friend. Otherwise good.

How do I get the bands tight

The best way to do it would be with the use of a proper tool. We have an EPI CV Boot Kit Banding Tool that'll do the job perfectly. With that tool, you can expect a good seal all around the CV boot.
