Best lowering shocks

By   on  Verified Purchaser

This is my third set and they are the best lowering shocks that still give you enough travel.

Shocks worth the money

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Fits 2022 FLTRX Roadglide perfect. Replaces junk stock suspension. Tried the lowering blocks first, what a mistake. Shocks worth the money and you will be much happier.

So far so good!

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Bought these to lower my 2020 street glide special because I am a little vertically challenged. Easy to install. It did lower me down a good inch or so? So far so good!

Great shocks.

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Great shocks. Lowered the bike and it looks great. I'M 6' 2", 265lbs, adjusted the pre load 2 clicks before even getting on the bike. Rides great, even better than the stock air shocks. Very happy so far.

Slammer

Perfect fit. Looks great on my 2013 Electra Glide. Slammed it.

I'm please with my purchase.

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Easy install, shocks look good and gave my bike a nice low look. You do give up some of the comfort from the 13in factory shocks but that's the trade off. I'm please with my purchase.

Burly Slammers solves height problem!

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Love my 04 Road King! It was a little tall for me so I replaced the 12.5" air shocks with Burly Slammer 10.5" shocks. Made a world of difference for me. So far the ride is very good. Problem solved!

Lowered my bike

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Needed to lower my bike and these shocks did the trick. The Street Glide was too high for me and these lowered it 2 1/2 inches.

Easy breezy

By   on  Verified Purchaser

Installed easy breezy and was exactly what I expected.

Questions & Answers

1994 fxdwg with 12.5 shocks now. Will the 10.5 " cause any tire to fender issues. How will it not bottom out?

I too am vertically challenged, and would like to be flat footed. Please respond, as I'm interested in ordering soon. Thanks

I feel ya'! So long as the rear fender is stock, you shouldn't have any problems fitting the shortest sock to your bike. Burly's Slammers are probably the closest you can get to the ground, safely - without constantly rubbing that rear tire against the inner rear fender. We've got plenty of happy riders using these kits for all kinds of bikes, including your Fat Boy.

Will these fit my 99 road king and if not do you have something you would recommend ?

Yes, if you were to select the 1999 Harley Davidson FLHR Road King Burly shocks from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct parts to fit your bike. They bolt straight in place of the OEM shocks with ease.

Wife just bought a 2024 FLHRXS (Road King Special). She is vertically challenged...hoping to lower the bike enough that she can flat foot while stopped. Everything else on the bike is standard H-D. How much lower might she expect? I thought of going with Preogressives 944 Ultra Low with a 1" lowering block, thinking that combination might give her a better ride. Thoughts please.

Obviously, any shocks that are lower than stock are going to be helpful. I would strongly recommend that you do not combine a lowering kit with shorter shocks as you'll probably end up with the rear tire rubbing against the inside of the rear fender. In terms of lowering the bike overall, the Slammers are going to be your best bet. Of course, whether or not that's enough for her needs is really hard to say. For best effect, you'll want to lower the forks, too. That way, you maintain stock steering geometry while at the same time. The only option, at the moment at least, for that bike comes in the form of Progressive's Fork Lowering Cartridge Kit. With that, you'll have a bike that's lowered evenly and significantly easier for her to get along with under all riding conditions. Plus, with both ends the suspension's way better than stock, too, ride quality will also be awesome.

By Tom

Will these ride smoothly on my 04 Road Glide?

If you're looking for a smoother ride than stock, these shocks probably aren't going to be much of an improvement. They could be a slight improvement, especially if you're still riding on the original shocks and they've never been serviced. This is due to the fact that they're valved to work with a bike that's lowered without compromising the ride you have on a bike that's otherwise stock. If you're after an overall better ride, then your best bet is to stick with aftermarket shocks that are of the same length as the OEM parts on your bike (13" in the case of the 2004 Harley Davidson FLTR Road Glide OEM shocks). With that kind of setup, you can certainly expect a ride that's much, MUCH improved over the stock suspension components.

By Tom

What is the preload specs

What preload is on the shocks out of the box. I'm only 130 lbs

Without knowing what machine it is that you have, I can't say for sure. I can tell you that the included instructions will indicate exactly how to setup the shocks for your particular weight. Since you're on the lighter side, you won't have any problem getting the ride height correct for your weight.

By Tom

Will these work on a 2023 flhtk

Yes, absolutely. If you were to select the 2023 Harley Davidson FLHTK Electra Glide Ultra Limited Slammer shocks from our fit guide, you'd receive the correct parts to fit your bike.

2016 road king

Will this make any difference when going around turn when you drop from a 13 to a 10/12

Yes, you're going to lose ground clearance. For many riders, this isn't that much of a problem. If you're just cruising, they're great, but if you're an aggressive rider that enjoys twisty roads, you may want to consider standard-length Harley Road King shocks instead of these. The reduced ground clearance can be an issue for some guys.

By Tom

Is there a hand adjustment on these shocks?

You won't be able to adjust preload on these shocks by hand, however, they do ship with a C-spanner wrench which you can easily carry with you in your saddlebags. With that, you'll easily be able to adjust preload whenever you want.

Do these do away with the pumping up of the shocks ? I have an 05 Ultra Classic and my shocks are leaking .

That's correct - there's no provision airing up these shocks. They're a sealed design that works like conventional shocks. No muss, no fuss - just bolt 'em on and you're all set!

Going to drop my 17 Roadking do u offer a shorter kickstands

We have a few options from Arlen Ness, Drag Specialties and Pingel. You can find them in the "Swingarm and Frame" subsection of the website under your 2017 Harley Davidson FLHR Road King.

Will these fit on a 2019 Road King Special?

You should have no problem installing these shocks to a 2019 Harley Davidson FLHRXS Road King Special. The suspension has yet to change between 2018-2019 Harley Davidson FLHRXS Road King Special models.
