Are ceramic pads good on bikes?

Personally, I have used them on my race bikes and have had good results with them. They seem to be really consistent over a wide envelope ... once they've got some heat in them. That's not to say they're bad when cold, just that, when compared to sintered metal or even organic brake pads, they take a second or two to get up to full stopping power if they're at ambient temperature. After that, they're great.
