Customer Reviews

Item arrived in perfect condition

By   on  Verified Purchaser

This is the GS-2 Model. All shims and all components arrived in pristine condition. Gold Valve workmanship very good quality machining of the orifice ports very good workmanship. Note if you weigh at least 250lbs you will have to buy more shims. Shims included in the set are appropriate if you weigh very less than 250 lbs. Race tech gold valves are the best on the market.

Questions & Answers

Is this the whole shock?

This is only the Goldvalve for the model selected at checkout. No shock is included in this purchase. It is shown for reference to what it looks like installed.

does it include rear shock seal head? or the buper?

No, Race Tech's Gold Valve kits only include the valving components required to upgrade the feel of your bike's shock: shims, valve &etc. But, while you're in there, you might as well rebuild the rest of the shock as well. To do that, check out the Pivot Works Shock Rebuild Kit as that includes the shock seal head, bumper &etc. With a Gold Valve and the shock rebuild kit, you'll be able to get your shock in better-than-new operating condition!

It comes with the piston correct? 1989 Honda CR250R shock.

In the case of the Race Tech Gold Valve shock kit for the 1989 Honda CR250R, yes, there is indeed a piston included in the kit. Basically, the piston is the heart of the shock upgrade kit as it's quite an improvement on the OEM rear shock's design. With that, along with the correct shim stack as outlined in the included instructions, you'll find the rear shock significantly improved over the stock unit once everything is back on the bike.
