Questions & Answers

How much will this lower a stock 2008 Sportster xl1200c?

By Jerry

Once you select your machine from our fit guide, you'll be presented with a selection for color and length. In the case of the 2008 Harley Davidson XL1200C Sportster 1200 Custom lowering kit, the components lower the rear end of your machine by one inch.

Already having the lowest rear shocks installed on my 98 Harley Dyna FXD, can I still install the lowering kit without damaging my rear tire? Will I have enough safe clearance between the fender and tire? Thanks

By Eli

You'll notice that, once you select your machine from our fit guide, it's stated in the description that the parts are not to be used with shorty or low profile shocks and also that these kits are for stock-length shocks. In other words, if the shock is shorter than stock, you're going to have problems with the tire rubbing on the inside of the rear fender. For these reasons, we do not recommend this lowering kit for machines that are fitted with anything other than stock length rear shocks.
