Mikuni HSR42 Smoothbore Carburetor

Great carburetor! My big twin has never run better. Starts up easier, more power and better response. It was easy to set up. The float height and accelerator pump were dead on from the factory. I would still recommend checking those before you install. You may need to change the jets, needle and needle position according to your modifications. They sell a kit for that with several different jets and needles. I would recommend it if you want a custom tune to any modifications you have.

Good price. Good packaging. Bolted on and adjusted the air mixture screw and set the idle. 99 twincam is running great!

I gave this part an over all 5 star rating. There's a lot of capabilities with this carburetor, of course I'm referring to the different types of needles, you're able to use! An all the setups that can be done. Now that being said. That purchase to polished carburetor. This is a waste of money if your not going to be using a Ramair Comb intake. Or something along those lines. 5 star for the quality and the attention to detail. Now I like how they but it through the test before selling it to you! Truly awesome. Only going to buy carburetors from them from now on.

Worked out of the box, no tuning needed. My 1999 FXR never ran as good.

The polishing isn’t all that great, lots of missed areas and less than decent work. Not parts giant fault, more the folks at Mikuni getting lazy on the polisher.
