What makes the higher performance ball joints better.

The difference is in the materials used in the ball joint itself. Specifically, the standard All Balls Ball Joint Kit uses a POM-M90, a polymer (plastic) bearing cup on the end opposite the ball joint's pin. The high-performance variant, uses steel instead. The result is a longer-lasting design.
