Is it supposed to be able to move around

I have a 2007 Sportster 1200 XL and it is in limp mode I was told that the sensor may be the problem My sensor is able to move back and forth I do not see where a screw would go but I do see a hole where it could go
The sensor shouldn't move at all and is supposed to be bolted in place. You'll notice the sensor probe has an O-ring at its base. That seal separates the sensor probe from the outside atmosphere in order to deliver proper readings to your bike's ECU. While it may not be the primary culprit for your bike's limp mode, it's probably a contributing factor!
