Without having your machine here to examine, it's difficult to determine what, exactly, is causing your problem. The OEM battery should be more than enough to turn over the stock engine, at least. The cause, could be, that the battery itself is on its way out. A battery load tester would be the only reliable way to make that determination. So, before moving forward, we recommend you check that the battery you have on your bike is in good nick. If not, replacing that might solve your problem. Assuming the battery is in good order, it could be that your starter motor is on its way out, not so much that the battery is weak. The only way to figure that out is to test the starter motor itself using the voltage drop test as specified in your machine's service manual. If you don't have a service, a Cylmer Service Manual will explain exactly how to run that test. Now, if the starter passes the voltage drop test and you've done some engine work: bumped compression, installed bigger cams &etc., then the OEM starter is certainly going to be under a bit of strain trying to turn that engine over and the only way to solve that would be to replace the OEM 1.4kW-rated starter with something bigger.
