What Charger should we use on the CTX5L-BS or should i use a battery tender with limited winter Use to keep charged??

Any 12V battery charger is suitable for use with these batteries from WPS. For storage, any battery maintainer, including a Battery Tender will be well-suited for keeping the battery charged during longer periods of time.
is this battery compatible with battery cables on my 1978 Yamaha xs1100?

Yes, all of these batteries are compatible with the stock battery cables on any machine you select from our fit guide. You should have no problem fitting this battery to your '78 Yamaha XS1100.

Do I need to add the acid packs, or do you do it prior to shipping?

You will need to add the acid to the battery once you receive. The included instructions explain exactly how to go about adding the acid. Really, there's nothing to it since the acid pack is shaped exactly like the filler holes. You just push the whole pack down on the top side of the battery and let it fill for a few minutes. There's no need to measure or carefully pour fluid into each cell. In other words, you can't mess it up!
In this way, with a proper charge immediately thereafter, you can be assured of a long-lasting, powerful battery.
