The 480 cranking amps of this lithium ion battery effortlessly starts my xb12r firebolt and in the event that the cooling fan must run for a while to cool the engine after shut down it still fires up just as easily even when the engine is still hot... The last lead acid battery I used had 240 cranking amps which was an upgrade from stock and it had difficulty starting the engine under the same conditions and only lasted a year...The smaller and lighter lithium ion battery also fits more easily in the space available...

Yes, you can - caveat emptor, it has to be a trickle charger that's designed to work with LiFeO4-type batteries. The lower internal resistance of lithium batteries compared to that of lead acid batteries means that, if the charger/tender isn't designed to work with a lithium battery, it'll slowly cook it over time.
